Dressing for Discipleship
Getting dressed for school can sometimes be a challenge. What shall I wear? Will it rain today? Do I need to bring a jacket? What about my running shoes? I need to be ready for all that lies ahead in this day.
Our school theme for this year also challenges us to dress as Christians. Instead of putting on our gym wear or worrying about our bringing a coat our theme verses of Colossians 3: 12-14, tells us we need to change our attitudes and put on the things that will set us apart as Christians. This year we will work at putting on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and love as we dress ourselves as Christians in order to make a difference in our world. This theme will be the focus of our monthly chapels and classroom devotions. Our service projects, our staff-student, and student-student activities will provide opportunities to have us explore our theme in a deep and meaningful way. It should prove to be an exciting year as together we seek to model ourselves after our Lord!
