Operating The School With Integrity

Georgetown District Christian School operates the school with integrity by following God's law and all governmental laws that apply to a preschool to grade eight education.  It is operated by the Georgetown District Christian School Society and managed through direct parental participation.  The Society elects a Board which oversees the operation of the school with the help of several committees:

Admissions Committee:  Meets with prospective parents for enrollment and makes a recommendation to the board.

Contract Partnership Committee (CPC):  Meets with the staff to facilitate contractual matters.

Development Committee:  designs and implements activities that promote the vision of GDCS to its existing members and supporters and to the surrounding community, while raising funds that enhance and support the programs of the school.

Education Committee:  Meets monthly, discusses curriculum, makes classroom visits, reviews policies and programs pertaining to education.

Maintenance Committee:  Keeps the building and grounds in good repair.

Membership Committee:  Promotes society membership within the school community and administers an annual membership orientation seminar.

Technology Committee:  Focuses on making technology serve the needs of the curriculum.

Transportation Committee:  Negotiates a contract annually with a bus company to transport students safely from Acton, Erin, Rockwood, Georgetown, Glen Williams, Norval, Limehouse, Hornby and Milton.

School Quality Assurance Program (SQAP):  reviews all aspects of the school (including policies, maintenance, staffing, etc.) to ensure that the school meets or exceeds the standards as outlined by Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools (OACS).

Each committee consists of a Board member plus other society member volunteers. The Board employs a principal, vice principal, teachers, librarian, computer technician, development director, educational assistants and an administrative assistant who together make our school function well.  The school is kept clean by an independent cleaning company contracted by the Board.
